The Dalgety brewing company was formed in late 2008
It is the first commercially produced beer in the snowy mountains region.
In 2007 The Snowy Vineyard estate was awarded a federal government tourism grant for the construction of a cellar door, wine tasting room and restaurant.
Being beer and wine lovers and hoping to attract additional patrons the brewery concept was born. Our little mash pilot pumps out 10 cases of beer per brew and it is currently going flat out 3 times a day.
At this stage we are currently brewing ales including a Pale, Blonde, Gold, Red and Strong.
All beer sold at the Snowy vineyard is produced on premises.
We have recently planted our own hops and the water used is Pumped from the Snowy River.
All the grain is crushed in premises prior to steeping and fermentation.
All beer Kegged and or bottled is done by hand as is packaging and labeling.
The tasting notes for the 5 beers we have are as:
||A beautiful smooth and creamy blonde utilizing the aromatic cascade hops and Export pilsner grain. A very moorish beer drink with a great aroma and creamy finish.
||This Pale has great citrus, really in your face!!. We use the unique Nelson Sauvin hops to give it the great aroma and punchy bitterness. Once you've tried on you cant stop. This one makes it hard to encourage the responsible service of Alcohol!
||Beautiful gold in colour, goes down very smoothly. We use Amarillo hops. This beer is well rounded with no sharp attributes…a great all rounder …as close as we get to commercial flavours!!
||This is a meal! A great dinner ale with full flavours. This is a conglomeration of a multitude of grains and hops with the main one being williamette hops from New Zealand. Strong with lasting flavours
||Not for the light hearted this is a 6 course meal in a glass !! A traditional malted barley base with a combination of Hallertau Hersbrucker and Pacific hops. Strong upfront and lasting flavours 6.5% Alc
